Default 2006 subaru sti PPP recommend?

Hi guys,

Im new here I'm going to look at a 2006 hawkeye sti with the PPP kit on

However I've heard the engine isn't as strong as the blobeye? is this true? If so is it something i should really be worrying about?

I dont have plans on taking it above 400bhp anyway most likely just replace the exhaust and keep it pretty much oem

Any comments to help me decide will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Head gasket can more than likely fail and if power is taken above 350bhp the pistons are on borrowed time. Apart from that is is an excellent road car. I have a 55 plate type uk and hg went at 50k and it was completely stock.

The 2.5 is a great engine for a road car , it does have its issues as mentioned but don't be put off by them. Find a forged unit and happy days if not don't stress as there are lots out there that are and have been fine you just don't hear the owners sing about it. You will always hear the horror stories
