Advice please 2005 2 litre sti ppp or 2005 2.5 litre sti
Going to look at a 2.5 tomorrow but don't know much about reliability etc against the 2 litre I have only ever owned the 2 litre?
Any advice would be appreciated!

2.5 has ringland and head gasket issues and also in the higher road tax bracket.
the 2.0 is pretty much bullet proof really.

It still should fall into the cheaper tax as it is pre march 06 when it changed over.

Everyone will say 2.0, unless the 2.5 has had the bottom end forged and head gasket and bolts replaced steer clear.

I thought everyone would say steer clear it's at graham walker for 9k with low miles but having never had problem with the 2 litre it has made me nervous back to the drawing board me thinks!!

But once that is done the 2.5 is hard to beat as a fast road car.

Agreed, and even toying with the idea of a 2.5 myself or a 2.1 for one of my scoobs, but i have all the parts for a 2.0 forged build and 3x 2.0 blocks so it may be a while,
but i do like the torque figures.

I'm not adverse to having one of those, I've had a type ra before, I do prefer a garage buy though just for the bit of warranty.
The one I was going to look at is at graham walker ltd Chester its a cheap priced motor, with great spec just wrong Chuffin engine!!

Good choice, anyone who has read about how bad the 2.5 is and buys one wants their head testing.

I`ve never heard Graham Walker and cheap in the same sentence before.

Pokerpro if you had been in a 2.5 wich had had its issues addressed
You would need your head examining
If you "didn't " want 1

Of course if someone else had already spent a pretty penny sorting the 2.5 out then I would have one. I think hawks look great, if they still had 2.0 I would already be driving one. I know about jdm but always seem to go for silly money.
