Default are the uk spec the worst!

just been browsing the net and went on ebay.com and searched impreza sti, and by the looks of it all the blob stis have the jdm spec, orange swooping dials, round boot lock etc only thing they seem to lack is the stronger engine

And no burble due to turbo/equal headers = no soul.

Ho.......you should have bought a 98 UK car:

NINE MONTH waiting list.
Not as good seats.
No rear wash-wipe.
No folding mirrors.
Not as good ICE.
No STi wheel
Poor 2-pot front brakes
Poor single pot rear brakes.
No Aircon as standard, (£1200 extra)
And metallic paint was £250 extra.

And for that, we paid nearly £6000 MORE than the japs were paying for the better car.......

I'm not saying uk are cr*p but just small things, why different pars are fitted to differnt models, when I always thought the jdm only had the different interior/exterior specs

its too late you bought a uk car.
dont worry about it. rear wash wipe looks awful and the rest are minor details apart from the engine.
twin scroll makes you lose the burble

The soundtrack is just as good in a JDM just a little different, The UK cars don't start to scream like a motorbike on boost 5/6k rpm, I've had both and not sure if I'd swap back, Probably the only way I would is if I got a classic as a toy.

They are a far better car, both in the terms of driving and drivability, the soundtrack actually is nicer than the "burble", which also makes it feel quite lumpy, you dont get that with the twin scroll, just great delivery and a better power band

some of the internals are different though, but unless your planning on big power in your car it makes no difference as the uk 2.0 sti engine is pretty bulletproof.

the jdm cars do feel different power delivery wise a bit smoother i thought having had one, not so much of a kick in the back when the boost kicks in.

but i did miss the burble.

uk widetrack is possibly one of the best uk cars anyway
