Default Are Classic STI worth it?
Hi guys,

I have been looking at upgrading my Ver2 WRX preface lift to a newer Impreza, ideally a Bug STI but I have not ruled out another classic, an STI rather than WRX. But there just does not seem that much difference between the classic STI and WRX rather than the Newage Impreza's, Brembo, TMIC, 6 speed for example.

So does the extra £1000/£2000 cost over a classic WRX for an STI justify the money for a set of forged pistons, firmer suspension (my WRX is already on coilovers) and a higher redline?

Not really mate in terms of a V1/2. Keep your WRX, early classics are the best IMHO...

Know **** all about the clasics but i'd love a v5 type r. I prefer the looks over the newage tbh, not sure what they are like to drive though??

Yea the 2 Doors are the exeption really.

there is really not much difference between wrx and sti pre 96.

I went from 93 WRX to 1998 Type R and yes it was worth it

But as you say 2 doors are the exception so I would personally go for the newer Imprezas.

Budget is what ever for the right car really, up to 7k but atm I'll be happy to keep the current WRX if nothing catches my eye.
