Default Radio problem

Hi for some reason my pioneer stereo won't pick up a good radio signal I'm sure the stereo is ok, I have checked the radio connection and that seems ok, someone said that I might need a new amplifier? This is the unit that goes in the boot, does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix the problem ?

if you have a non standard stereo fitted you need to connect the blue 12 v accessory wire from the stereo to the white wire on the cars loom.

this is the wire that powers the amplifier and gives you a signal.
