Default any help appreciated

wondered if anybody can source a solution for me,
i've just been back from shopping and my car was alright on the journey there. on the way home, the revs drops to 0 and it actually seems to be revving higher than i was. i cant accelerate, and after idling for 5-10 secs it would stall. just thinking what could cause the ecu think that there is 0 revs
i can restart the engine not a problem, but it just happens again. i managed to get home after a few stop and starts

does anybody know how this can be fixed?

wiley

Ring Martyn, he should have an answer for you ! I ended up speaking to him at 9pm on a Sunday regarding a SimTek issue

If your running mafless it could be another sensor issue e.g. Throttle Position Sensor etc. Best to pm or ring Enginetuner

if your already running a simtek wouldnt do that as the simtek would switch to closed loop i think, but i have a bit of a dodgy ICV in need of cleaning and i run a simtek, on starting it revs high at 2500-3 then after about 10 mins it calms down again or if i turn anti lag on it goes after about 10-15 seconds but the simtek does run mafless

didnt think the simtek had closed loop idle, until its upgrade to alkatek. mine is strange, the revs just drops to 0 like youve turned the car off, but its still revving (sounds like around 2k revs)
started the car this morning after not driving it for 1 day, and still the same problem

i thought the closed loop idle was what allowed it to run mafless as far as i was aware, sounds exactly like mine then on starting it idles very fast on turning on antilag then off after 10 secs it goes but simon at jollygreenmonster said he thinks it is the ICV sticking as with a simtek rather than adjusting small amounts the ICV goes all in or all out and that mine must have been sticking, thats the jist of what i got and it would just require a good clean etc but with mine i can accelerate but it just sticks the idle higher lol

i just had the idle control valve sapped over with scoobymaz (thanks)
and the problem is still there, so that eliminates the idle valve anyway
had a quick clean of all the plugs in the enginebay (that i could get to) to check any loose connection, plus checked all the fuses
really dont know where to look next

why would it be that though? bit odd that something like that would affect the idle like that and only on starting?? did he say why it might be those?

i think he said because it could be a bad sensor sending the rpm signal to the ECU, im trying now but not sure how to check if its faulty lol, just given them a clean up

just spent last few hours trying to fix my car, replaced throttle body, throttle sensor, idle valve. cleaned the cam and crank sensors but car still has the same problem
think it might by ECU related now, as when i switch the anitlag button on, the car doesnt feel like it was before
