Im looking to paint my engine block othe than power coating can I take it to the paint shop to have painted or do I need to use high temp paint or is any type of paint ok to use?

Any help before I contact the paint shop

Why not have it thoroughly cleaned and laquered, so as to stay shiny?

Otherwise, use high temperature paint.

 

Do the blocks get up to a high temp?

Reason I ask is I'd rather have the paint shop paint it properly to look mint but if there's a risk of fire or anything I'd rather do myself with htp
