Default Just bought an Ebay special

Hi everyone. I’ve just bought another Impreza Classic. This time it’s a 1995 Turbo and I quite like the idea of using it for track days (though it will also be my daily driver). The issue I’ve got is that this was an Ebay special complete with various unknown/unproven mods and my Impreza knowledge in limited. I’ve tracked various Mazda MX5s (I specialise in MX5 sales) but this is a whole new ball game.
Allegedly its had a replacement engine and has a ‘newer’ ECU. Is there any way I can identify whats actually fitted? It has a number of other mods (again allegedly) such as a lightweight flywheel. It definitely has a monsterous exhaust sytem: 3 inch straight into wrapped 4 in along with a de-cat.
My other big concern is whether its been mapped –especially bearing in mind the mods. I really dare not risk taking it on track until I know what the map situation is – does that make sense?
On the bright side, it drives really well though its fitted with some truly horrendous budget tyres which are shocking in the wet. Engine sounds healthy and it really flies. I just reckon it should run a bit better - it has loads of turbo lag for example.
Any thoughts on a plan of action here would be welcome.
