Default Trim parts....HOW much???

In july, I had to go to a dealer for a trim clip. It's the moulding at the very bottom of the roof trims, front windscreen end.

I paid nearly £9 for it, it's plastic moulding about 75mm long by 30mm wide.

Imagine my shock when I got home and found it ALSO needed a clip to fit it.

Now THAT bit is sold separately, is approx 10mm long and white plastic/nylon, and cost a further £0.95!!!

WHY don't they sell them together? One is useless without the other.

Rip off, FHI, International motors!

I just bought some trim clips from a dealer this week. The outer roof trim that runs from the bottom of the front screen down to the bottom of the rear screen.
Got 6 for the roof, 4 for front screen and 4 for rear screen.
Was waiting with my hand deep in my pocket for the bill, then he says £9 please.

Cheap enough.

Think they were even cheaper at ICP but was passing the dealers.

i got quote £6.50 for the half moon shaped clip that secures the front bumper to the wing on a classic, as i managed to snap the bolts in mine. There was no way i was paying £13 for 2 bits of plastic, i'd sooner drill the broken studs out tbh than get royally shafted by Subaru.

Don't forget the tiny self-tapper that holds the 2 items together. That's also a separate part. Incidentally, I bought 2 of those clips of which you write, last week, £3.50 each.. +vat, but mustn't grumble as it's a 22 year old car and nice that you can still get original parts for it from the main dealers.
