Thumbs down

Dunno if anyone still watches GPs any more, but it will be legal for cars to run full autoboxes & traction control at the next race onward. How can the FIA and governing bodies get it so wrong?

I'm not saying anyone could get into an F1 car and get on the grid, but these devices certainly narrow the gap between the journeymen and the stars. Why bother with delicate throttle control (e.g. Schumacher in the wet) when you can just boot it and let the software sort it out? Where's the skill in that?

What's worse is these things were all outlawed in '93 for making the racing too boring (i.e. Williams were winning everything and no-one else could get it together) and now they've brought 'em back in again!!!

Still, at least there's gonna be Superbikes on just about every weekend 'til October ;-)

I reckon that was some of the best racing I've ever seen - absolutely stunning , though the last lap of sundays second BSB race was pretty stunning too...

Anyone see the btcc at the w/e ? any good ?

Cool

The Williams, Ferarri and McLaren teams all have a form of traction control hidden deep inside the ECU anyway. By making it legal it means the lesser teams can play on a level playing field and stop the other teams cheating (to quote Max Mosely ). Should make it a little more exciting (which aint difficult).

As for Gp500 bikes, it's the best motor racing on the telly
