question lads im going to decat my centre section at the weekend on my 99 gc8 my front has already been done its just my centre to do will my car be ok to drive even tho iv not remapped it yet im going to get that done the month after. if i drive my car normal will it be ok to drive until then

 

Generally on Classics you can get away with running a decat without a map, less so on Newages because of the CEL it throws up. You can get boost spike from running a decat without a map, mainly due to the turbo having less restriction from a catted exhaust.

 

Running my decatted and never had a issue, I would suggest one when money allows tho, to get the full worth of it,

 

will i still get the gains without the remap tho? im looking for a remap just trying to get more money together im looking at jgm for a map but they have a good few to choose from but tel the truth im not sure what i need dont supose anyone can advise me im new to scoobies so wanting to learn as much as i can cheers lads

 

just another thing iv got a vf23 turbo is that standard turbo for my car 99 gc8 sti

 

The box in the middle pipe is not a cat, it's a resonator.
And yes, would deffo reccomend a mapping session on a fully de-catted car.

 

oh right thanks for that something else learned so it defo needs mappin then will it be ok to drive tho untill a remap has been done or at least back from the garage after fitting lol.
what mods do you have mate to get to 400 then will i be looking at a full engine rebuild forged to get up there mate
