Default Subaru 2002 GX 2.0 Decat Pipe Doesnt fit!

Subaru Impreza 2002 (52) GX 2.0L n/a

Hello guys. I really need some help with this one as i have been driving around with a hole in the cat pipe and i dont know what to do!

The local exhaust place said its £230 for a straight replacement (part and labour). So i figured i would just get the "decat pipe 2" from scoobyworld. After getting reassurances it would fit, i ordered it only to not fit at all!

Please view the photos. It is several inches shorter (indicated by the redline)

Scoobyworld told me some 2002 GX models have a slight different cat pipe length but were unable to provide any further info and advised me to return it for a refund. Anyone know any exhaust specialists in the eastmids area or even westmids? Or for that matter any site or place i may be able to get the correct fitting decat or cat pipe. (Also will i pass the MOT with one cat - if i decide to fit a decat pipe when i eventually find one???).

I will probably stick this up in the sport forum too but 99% of the time you guys have come to my rescue. Any help will be much appreciated

Its because your cat pipe is in one section so you'd need the other decat pipe that they sell to make it fit, some of the sports had a two section cat where the decat you bought would have fitted.

Yes they did mention I'd have to buy the second one if I wanted it to fit. Will ring Hayward later and discuss it with them.

scoobyworld are a bunch of wan kers when things go wrong,
you need to get a couple of flanges, the same bits you find on the end of the pipes, and use these as spacers to fill the gap, I got mine from scorpion as they are local but ebay have loads.

Our decat pipes for the Sport / GX are made by Hayward and Scott, as you'll see its the same image on their website.

Obviously apologies for the inconvenience, we've offered a full refund as the item obviously isn't going to fit, drop it into us or we'll have it collected, whatevers best. Have spoken with H&S and they're are as stumped as we are.

Hey Neil. H&S said they are aware of these issues and can modify it at extra cost. It does state on their website that it will not fit some models. I will come to your place tmw to return. Cheers
