master cylinder do i need better?

Default master cylinder do i need better?

Just had a new set of ap 6 pots fitted,with 356mm discs and the garage that i had it done at said i may need to upgrade the master cylinder which i didnt know was necessary. Have any of you had to do this, I havnt even driven it yet so dont know how it feels he said it seemed fine to him but obviously doesnt know my car any answers or help would be cool.

I haven't upgraded the master cylinder on mine and the brakes feel great.
First i've heard of it TBH.

cool do you prefer them over the brembos or are they about the same. I am coming from stock 4 pots on the 294 discs behind 18" rims looked a bit numb i think.hopefully the ap's will look and feel better

I didn't really like the brembos at all, i suppose they could have been made better with a fast road pad and disk setup, but i didn't bother. The AP's are very very good, in a different league to the brembos in my opinion.

Newage STIs wont need upgrading as they have to handle the Brembo set up anyway.

Is yours a WRX?, as they may have a smaller cylinder and would therefore benefit with being replaced for an STI one.

I have a newage STI cylinder on my classic due to a 4 pot and 2 pot upgrade and it improved the brake travel.

yes it is. its an 08 gb270 how much would an sti master cylinder be roughly and where could i get one from?

I paid £6 for a used one from ebay , but you may have to pay a little more. Should be a few on there. Either that or a breakers on here.
