yep.. but dont be put off.. it is easy,
I just did my bug eye in April.

I found some very good guides via google..
-remove cup holder by removing the 2 screws
-pull centre console from the top, the plactic clips WILL pop open, you may want a plastic tool (bike tyre remover it what i used) to give some leverage..

once the console is off it becomes obvious.. a few screws holding in the cage n out she comes.

I took my time n with my 4 year old 'helping' we did it in a couple of hours

will help you...

make sure you get the CORRECT adapter before you start work..
ebay has loads, its work contacting the audio shops to make sure they are selling you the right one.

This is a classic though so I didn't remove the console in the two I've had.

Removed the thin plastic trim around the stereo to reveal the holes where the release tool fits, in the absence of the U shaped release tool I used 4 thin drill bits then it slides out. Its just a standard single Din stereo fitment

My old Philips one had screws.
Remove the surround and you'll see what to use.
