What`s the best way to get a stainless steel backbox clean again? I know Autosol is good stuff but this might need some `machine help` too

I used to use car plan wonder wheels to remove any grime, followed by brasso, definitely not silvo, i don't know why but brasso works much better, it used to bring my back box up a treat!

Wd40 wont solve the problem where the metal has oxidised and left a copper like colour on the exhaust.
.For that autosol will remove without to much effort .I have sold 5 exhaust on this site in 7 weeks & for me its autosol everytime.

If you try halfords they had a offer on a few weeks ago buy any 3 cleaning products pay only for 2, so you can get some alloy wheel cleaner as well as 2 tubs of autosol , which is what I did. :thumb
I use Astonish powder from betterware its a household cleaning paste works fab on, lots of stuff cheep to buy think you can get from tesco too in cleaning isle its a little tub wet your cloth rub it round then polish metal/ pvc window frames etc . Its not scratchy like wire wool so wont dammage surcace I always use on my exhaust comesup a treat :-)
