Default Clutch problem since 6 speed conversion

Hi all,
I recently did a 6 speed conversion on my 96STI & fitted an AP clutch at the se time. I'm still using a 5 speed flywheel, clutch & slave cyl.
The car has only been driven off boost as Iv been waiting for Bob Rawle to remap it after my HG failure.
Anyway Bob remapped it on Saturday,it drives great, but whilst mapping we found that when going hard through the gears the clutch pedal would become less & less until gear selection became difficult or impossible. The pedal would go back to normal when driven in one gear more slowly.
The slave was not removed when changing the box & it was fine on the 5 speed. Bleeding it makes no difference. Do I need a new 5 speed slave or a 6 speed one,or am I missing something here?
Any help & advice appreciated.
Richard.

Sure you need to fit a 6 speed one.
Remember when I was on the hunt for a 6 speeder someone told me I needed the 6 speed slave too.

I was told I didn't need one but this would explain it & I'm thinking the same now. Thanks Matty.

you don't need to fit a six speed clutch, you can use a five speed as long as you use 5 speed flywheel, starter and slave cylinder

OK thanks Scott. May be a faulty slave then. Will I be best to put the 6 speed slave on & are the pipes the same?

Thought I'd update this incase anyone has the same problem. Today I bled it again, flushed loads of fluid through it & also fitted a new spring to the clutch fork as the old one had vanished.I then took it for a hard drive thrashing it through the gears several times,& it seems fine now. Not sure if it was the spring or the fluid but fingers crossed it's fixed.

it's the spring, without it holding the fork forward it rests against the plunger which then pushes backwards in to the slave until you get to the point where one press of the clutch is only enough to push the plunger to it's original position then you have to press it again to operate the clutch.
