I appologise for the **** figures my car produced today.
Something's not quite right there, should be a good 30/40bhp more.... Merv noticed a couple of things, booked with him for the 14th to be sorted out
Biggest stab was when Bruce got 1bhp more than me, with the DP I sold to him!!!!
Cheers Lads, good day, well done Bruce

Cheers Chris and the boys at PE - a good day out. I was pleased with my results especially over my last visit to PE.
I've posted details here: http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=93205
Well done Bruce; I reckon it was your young lad willing it on that got you those extra few vital bhp!

Car is running on Optimax. Mervyn did not point any major problems, did say there was a little knock, but nothing unusual. I'm going to ring PE later on this week to ask what I can do to get more power from the beast.
At least I now know what it is putting out. To be honest, I've not spent that much on engine mods, probably only about 250, which is for downpipe and dumpvalve, so not too bothered, plus I know the car is fairly quick on road, well, I kept up with Maffa on the way back to his place the other day, so I can't be that slow.
Maybe it's those big calipers and disks sapping power?
Rest assured I'll keep you informed as to what I find out.

Any Chance you can post the real BHP Figures (At the wheels)
We had a RR day in chesterfield, always wondered why a 340 bhp scoob (P1 on PE's rollers) couldn't over take my mates RS Turbo Down the back straight at dono
Here is the graph, i guess its the wheels figure

Markus,
You really must stop calling it a "Beast".....particularly with those power figures....
Steve,
At the risk of starting this big discussion off again, the PAW figure is so varible dependant that surely the "real" figure has to be at the flywheel?
Matt

hmm.
I got 230 at the wheels last time I was there.
It was the highest at the wheels of the day, but certainly was not reflected in the power at the flywheel figure.
I dont trust teh at the wheels figure either, as tyre pressure counts for too much blah blah blah. engine dyno is the only way!

Mmmm Mixed views on the PAW figures, sure low tyre pressures will cause higher losses.....but that actually means your car WILL be slower on the road. It's the PAW that does the actual pushing.
If comparing RR data then PAF is more appropriate as the gearing (ratio) has an effect on PAW figures, lower gearing = less losses = more PAW.
Bench dynos are just as false as they rarely fully replicate the underbonnet installation and conditions ie exhaust backpressure, charge temperature, fuel system, auxiliary loadings, acceleration rates etc
None of the methods above run the engine as it run in the car, ie quick revving through the gears, on/off throttle, part throttle to WOT.
The best comparison is timed acceleration through the gears, no good fitting that big turbo to add 50 bhp if you have lag on each gearshift for example. Also it is the average bhp over the used range that is the important figure, not the peak power.

Deep, I have an MY97WRX with the 276ps engine. I have POC's old Magnex single dump downpipe, a Magnex 6X4 bbox, HKS Induction kit, and a vent to atmosphere dump valve. There is a problem with the car overboosting slightly and running lean on full boost, this is going to be sorted next week back at PE.
POC I'm sure you'll take the honours next time.
