Default URGENT - KEY LOST, NO SPARE - HELP!

Ok, key has been lost or stolen for my 2001 bugeye

What are my options? It also has a sigma alarm but i've got the code and can source a new fob easily so know what i'm doing with that.

Full lock set obviously, but what about the key chip immobiliser?

To secure it, put it into valet mode, guide here: http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...nFeatures#toc2

That'll stop any active fobs being used. so car can't be started, and if opened with key, alarm will sound.

Ok, having trouble arranging with the nearest dealership to get it sorted.

So, am now looking at the changing lockset, steering column, transponder ubnti, and ecu (i take it thats needed as well?)

Is there any shear bolts on steering column?

And will any bugeye ecu work with my car? and be plug and play?

Ordering the key is fine, prob is their service department isn't open on saturday so would require both me and a mate (who I've already put out enough over this) to take time off work.

Recovery company.

Turns out the ecu is from a 2002 bugeye...should still work with my 2001 bugeye though?

A mapper on here can code a new key to your ecu for you, but if you are buying altogether it wont matter.
