Sti type uk 2006-7 what are they like?
Noticed these are very well priced at the minute and wondering why really?
Only had limited dealings with subarus before and none of this model so was wondering how theyd compare to say a 04 sti?
Any thing i need to look out for if i do go and view or just general?
thanks in advance

The 06-07 Type UKs come with a 2.5L engine as compared to the 04. That's probably the most significant difference. As such it's got a lot more low to mid range torque. The difference in power delivery is quite significant. It's got a better chassis as well, DCCD (with auto mode), more castor, wider rear track etc. It's altogether the better and quicker car in my opinion, althought the 2.5L has been known to be weaker (especially when power has been increased significantly).

Spent a bit of time today reading up opn them and the head gasket seems to keep popping up but is anyone on here had it happen on a stock car or just a remapped car?
Has the 2.0 05 blob and jdm similar to hawkeye apart from engine and that jdm has a twin-scroll?
The hawkeye i saw has a ppp fitted so id hope to leave as it is as i tend to change cars after a few months and pointless chasing hp on something im unlikely to keep long.

You get the "widetrack" blobeye which is kinda like a hawkeye without the 2.5, has the revised suspension and interior. The JDM cars are higher spec'd, rarer and more expensive but from what i hear, they are much better.
Had a widetrack blob and thought it was pretty good, took plenty of abuse and never gave me any worries about it going pop, not something i couldnt do in a 2.5.
To answer your question mate 90% of performance cars are pennies nowadays, reason being they aint pennies to maintain.
