I don't like plates like that, they don't really spell anything unless spaced illegally, to me it reads you had that because it's cheap, but that's just my opinion

As above not keen and asking for a pull from plod, had a WRC plate on my old WRX which looked good and was not that expensive, or a WRX plate.

In my opinion private plates are okay its a personal thing, everyone will have their own opinion on them.
The link you added however that plate I think is rubbish and thats why its probably priced accordingly.
But as I said its all about your own opinion that's the one that counts imho.

I've got a private plate but it came with the car. I spells CUTE, CU07UTE. Been told its worth a few quid but with the recession prices have fallen. Now is the time to buy if you want one.

I have one but it`s not specific to the car, it`s my initials. If you buy a car specific plate and then at a later date, sell it...someone else gets the benefit where as one personal to you can be transferred
PS. that eBay one looks ****.

Suppose it's like having a Rolex when a Seiko will do the job, personal choice. Only in ths case the ebay plate mentioned by the OP is more like an expensive Timex IMHO LOL
Can think of better things to spend 200 to 500 quid on. Front mount intercooler? overhauled calipers? timing belt service? trip to the Nurburgring? Weekend away at Spa for the Grand Prix?
Whatever floats your boat I suppose

Of course if you have got/done all the above then a really good plate is ace.
Best I have ever seen is SOD 1T on a Cortina in Cambridgeshire, many moons ago. Probably worth more than the car as no spacing problems.

2nd best I have ever seen belonged to my boss in the early 90's
TON 4 relevent as his name was Anthony (Tony). And as he owned a multimillion pound fabrication plant in the uk, a cryogenics plant in America, his own Helicopter and part shares in a Leerjet I suppose he had bog all else to waste his dosh on. Cheeky bugger didn't even put it on his best car! It was on a beat up 80's Merc used as a pool car when he was on his frequent hols.
