Default Race Dynamix Remap Today

Well today Duncan came to perform a remap in my 2005 blob wrx 2.0 turbo

Before going he performed some tests & saved the original map, all was well so a base map was added ready for some Tweeks to smoothen out, to suit the car

The car seemed to be getting plenty of air at 148 on the airflow meter so this was good and helped by allowing a bit extra fuel & boost

After a few road runs and accelerating from different revs, the car was checked for over boosting & knocking and the map saved stage by stage until it was complete, the car was hitting 1.35 bar of boost at 2'600 rpm and tailed off to 1.22 bar at 6'500 rpm

The results are excellent, strong smooth boost and it pulls like a train, very happy

Only mods on the car are

STI intercooler
K&N (dry) cotton panel filter
Milltek cat back exhaust
Scorpion centre decat

I then took the car to a local Dyno Jet rolling road where is ran 290 BHP & 317 ft/lb torque

Next mods will be a decat up pipe and decat downpipe then more mapping by Duncan, could it hit over 300 BHP on the standard TD04 turbo, it looks like it may do

So all in all, a great day, thanks again Duncan, top guy

Nice result! You may be better off changing the turbo on the next round of mods. I have not heard of a TD04 turbo getting over 300bhp. May be possible, but will be a lot easier to upgrade the turbo.

Lovely looking car by the way. Nice! Duncan is a top bloke!

Yeah I'm happy with what's been achieved, very happy, but don't want the hassle of big turbo on a wrx, I'd get an STI to Chase power figures more, would be an achievement to get a 300 BHP TD04 WRX though

Agreed. Nice looking car.

Spoke to Duncan last year about doing my wrx but until the mods are finished no point.

Got a wrx running about 305 at the mo:

STi y pipe
VF34 Turbo
HKS induction kit
HKS SSQV
Full stainless decat (2.5" open downpipe and afterburner back box)
650cc Injectors
Roger Clarke 340 fuel pump

STi top mount will be fitted by next weekend and then a remap the week after should see 330-340 with ease. Still keeps up with 320 STi's now It shouldn't make a difference, but I'm already finding that since the RCM pump has been fitted its pulling harder and smoother than before. Might wanna think about that

Thats good power for the boost. Things have certainly come along over the years. I remember having a classic on a td04 and making 270ish was thought to be good and the max the turbo would do. Fairly low boost too.

Awesome !

Knew it was a special one but that is a cracking set of figures. Obviously people won't believe this but some data behind the logging was peak mass air flow of 248g/sec on std inlet/induction and holding 1.2 to 6000.

Works well imo

Wow that is crazy figures!!! Duncan is a great chap and had my car mapped by him yesterday, haven't really used the car since as had a day off in the end but hoping for around the 260/270bhp with decat uppipe/middle decat, waiting for a rear back box and k and n to be dropped in, +1 for dunc!!!

Those are fantastic figures, never seen torque that high on the TD04. Makes me want to go and have a remap now!

Late blob wrxs always seem to work better at making power than bugs for various reasons and this one with 37,000 miles quickly revealed that it wanted to make good boost and hold it and more importantly flow air too. I was trying to find another Wrx that flowed that amount of air from all the datalogs that I keep with me as comparison but the nearest I could find was 238g/sec on miles's Scoob that pushed 298bhp at SRR but that was full decat. Difficult to judge then when you see a car that seemingly works better at consuming air as to what power.

Obviously comparing dyno dynamics to dyno jet and dastek is a tricky business but they figures don't surprise me from what I saw data wise although they do from the spec of the car.

2.5 vs 2.0 I'm guessing?

As an e.g. my WRX 2.5 with TD04 is currently 285bhp/342lbft

Wow Martin, that's an amazing figure from a TD04. Cool. I wondered if it had ever been done. Nice work!

And yes i have 2.5 hawk wrx, hence amazing torque. Lol.

Great figures guys!
