Alarm remote interference
Not scooby I know but I'm sure it applies as well, we have a 2011 land rover and a 2011 Transit, 2 days ago at home both could only be locked/unlocked by using the remote next to the drivers door. Drive a few miles down the road and both can be operated from 20 ft away, both have the ford engine so I'm sure something is interfering and the spare keys are the same, any ideas ????

Happens to me in my Classic. For me its the RF interference from close by radio / mobile phone masts. In the older cars it happens because the government released a band of frequencies for mass use, which happened to over lap Impreza alarm and IM signal. No supprise when it doesnt work when its 0.5 watts vs 20,000.
As soon as you move the car away from the 'line of site' it works fine.
