Default Advice needed with selling car......

Right i have a buyer for my car but he is French and is unable to gain the required £ sterling for 15 days. Now i offered the idea of doing the cash transaction online once he has been out in the car and is happy etc, I would have supplied the internet access for him to do this and would just check with my own bank afterwards that the cash is in my account before releasing the car. Now after some ringing and speaking to the banks it seems that this may be a awkward way and that the French bank would need confirmation etc. The other option is that i take the amount in Euro and get it exchanged into sterling, which to be honest i am wary of as i dont want to end up with counterfeit euro notes plus there is also the fact of having to get it swapped to ££££....

Would really like to get from advice from anyone who has been in a simular situation or people with any better ideas

Surely if he is coming over to drive the car, he can exchange the euros he has into the required £ and give the £ to you ?

No it sounds like he cant be bothered as mentioned before my seller done it. Imprezas are worth much more over there even in RHD so if he wants the car he will put the effort in, i cant see how exchange is any worse for than it is for you.
Tell him queens head on the money or nothing he will miraculously have before you know it if he wants the car bad enough.

We are going straight to the Santander branch in Dover to pay the cash into my account.

Easier that way.

I've had buyers from Europe in the past and all have managed to get sterling from there bank and bring over the cash.
