GOD! not one of those slow turbo estate cars with the big turbo and the annoying HeadRipping lag when you hit boost at 4000rpm?
haven't you noticed that the justy has a hatch and the same physical boot space area as the Impreza Estate...

OK, I guess that's a no then? I know that in Australia a fair few daily use WRX's have 400+bhp, and some track only cars over 500, and I thought that JUN did a complete 420bhp kit in Japan, is no one doing similar in the UK yet?

Maybe new engines and insurance is cheaper for the japanese and for the austrailians . Have you tried to insure a standard 280bhp motor nevermind when you tell them it been tweaked .
Mines group 20+ before I tell them the few mods which have been done, you can hear the cash register chinging over the phone .
IMHO I am happy with 280-290bhp for a road car and the driveability is excellent. With the short gearing it pulls from 2000 and kicks at 2,500 and again at 5000 rpm and doesnt stop till the redline. Okay it may not have 400+bhp but surely all the power is delivered at high rpms with a laggy turbo which I think would take the funny out of it. Different priorities I guess.
Cheers

Yep, used to the insurance 'issues', I suffered similarly with my import impreza, nonetheless if your spending so much on the engine, surely the insurance won't be unbearable.

My Scooby puts out 260bhp and its insurance friendly... I didnt insure it thats why!! Not that i recomend it.
I bought it just over two weeks ago and its was sat on my drive cos i went on holiday, came back friday, took it to work on saturday to valet it and a geezer asked if i would sell it.
Being unwise i did and i regret it.
Its just sat on my drive once again now waiting for him to bring the balnce round.
Anyone got one they want to sell?
I need another!!!!

450 in a scooby is a damn sight more interesting than 450 in an r33
one thing ive learned the expensive way....bhp is not the be all and end all. good for mine is bigger than yours contests, but thats about it as far as i'm concerned. torque is the fun bit, and even then i would rather have daily driveability and reliability unless its purely used as a track car.

Spudgun, you've probably gone the right way with the evo then. I understand that they produce loads of torque at sensible revs (unlike the skyline). That said, I'm really after something I can enjoy driving a little more than the impreza, and a skyline is more suited to by driving I think.
