Default scooby outside temp guage ??

First car I have owned that had an outside temp gauge fitted, noticed tonight that it was only showing a temp off " 1 " take it it will read minus and if so what is the max it will read below ?? just how accurate is this reading ?? seems to be fairly accurate but always wondered where on a car they would put the actual sensor where it would not be effected by the temp off the engine etc ??

Yes mate they do read in minus. Last winter I think mine went down to minus 9, I'm sure some of our friends from up north can better that

I'm not sure exactly how accurate they are but if you've been driving the car and then leave it standing the temp will be a few degrees higher than it should be as it does pick up heat from somewhere. But driving a mile or so will bring the temp down to what it should be.

On previous cars I think the temp sensor has been somewhere behind the front bumper where it can lo be out of the wind. Don't know where it is on he scoob though.

I have one on my Legacy that has been playing up & reads incorrectly.
This morning it read -23. So they do go low.

In one of my old cars the temp sensor was in the door pillar, don't know where it is on the scoob.
