Default A likely story..

I recently had STI suspension fitted to my blob WRX along with two new front tyres this week. It felt like it needed a freshen up steering wise so I took it into a local TyreSpot this afternoon for front and rear tracking. One of the fitters rolled the car in and I decided to take my dog out and about for a quick walk.. On my return though I heard a familiar "braaaap ssssshhh braaap ssshh!!!" Clearly my car having the **** revved off it!! The car was six foot up on the ramp and a fitter was clearly revving it with his hand for the fooking entertainment of it! I hung around outside out of sight and waited for him to finish and park it up. As he got out of the car I said "listen fella, I bring my car here to be tracked, I don't expect to hear you revving the f*cking **** off it and the dump valve hissing away just for your entertainment!" Clearly shocked I heard him, he replied "Sorry mate but I had to do that to find out if it was a turbo for the invoice" ????

WTF??!! I almost laughed at him! I said "a f*cking five year old could work out that car is a turbo mate, there's a big fooking scoop on the bonnet, WRX on the boot and it's rattling your fooking tool box on tick over!"

He said "honestly mate I always do that"... on my life, deadly serious.. lol

Credit to him for thinking on his feet like that the lying little **** but I was not a happy chappy..

Erm, I would have dragged him in front of his boss, get to admit what he did and agree to pay for any damage that may have been caused.

Little ****ter.

Why did it matter if it was a turbo or not?

Sorry bud, but it's what you get if you entrust tracking etc to a know-nothing bunch of spanner monkeys.

The car drives perfectly and tracks genuinely true now.. The necky little ****** who tracked it knows his stuff but obviously has some respect issues to deal with lol Came with a comprehensive print-out and they made adjustments all over the place.. They've tracked my past 6 cars very well but yeh, pushed his luck today...

you took it to Tyrespot?

I would have asked on here for a proper tracking/alignment specialist like Carnetix (a bit far for you).

It was either Tyrespot @ £50 or maybe Revolution nearby for £100+.. Car feels nice and neutral now so job done.. Might treat it to a full geometric set-up next year..

i would have gone mad too, did he check if it was up to temp first? or just rev the knackers off a cold engine?

theres a few other ways to tell if it's a turbo or not. even the comp will know from the reg number

i'm a sparky and it's like me grabbing a bare wire to find out if it's live or not there are other ways
