Bah... Finally got around to fitting the HKS BOV plus fitting kit to my bug WRX wagon... Theres no way its gonna fit... The unit its self won't fit because it either hits the manifold or the pipework around the IC... even if it did, the larger rubber hose wouldn't go in it because everything is in the way... Stupid thing
I want a chirp when I change gear, not the existing Pssch... Might have to fit a PA system and chirp myself
lol

Hi mate I have one fitted to my 2001 bug, it was a bit fiddly but got there in the end had to track down the correct adaptor plate which was a mission on it's own then purchase a pair of circlip pliers , it took two of us to do. I nearly threw in the towel but we did it.
Don't give up mate

Hi Fingers,
I have an adaptor plate that bolts onto the IC perfectly, but maybe its not the correct one then... and I know what you mean about the giant circlip... I broke my favorite circlip pliers getting it off the old front mount pipework!
I don't suppose you have a picture of yours fitted do ya?

It's the dump valve delete mod that gives you a real chirp. Some turbos can take it while others are to fragile. It does shorten the life span of your turbo, but if you want the chirping then it is an option.

I dunno where it vents or circs to... I was just gonna connect it the same as the OEM item thats on there:
Bolts (via adaptor plate) onto the IC housing - large rubber hose to large stub - tiny rubber hose to tiny stub.
But I can't do any of it because the manifold / IC housing / throttle body are all in the way

Hrm, I think I can see the problem...
Unlike Don's SSQV above, mine has the turbo hose stub in a different place:

It looks like Don's SSQV has the stub in a similar position to the OEM valve that's on my car:

Because the chrome hose stub sticks out of mine where it does - I can't even mount it - because the chrome stub hits the throttle body pipework.
I guess there are different SSQVs, and mines the wrong flipping one
A big thanks for your help though chaps

With your help and a look on the net, I think I get it!

So I need to blank the recirc hose.
Remove the recirc stub from the SSQV.
And it should fit!
Martin - Do I need to buy an insert, or will it still do it's stuff without one?
I'm having the same problem with the one I bought, as already said the problem is the plate needs to tilt the bov rather than sitting flat. Been searching for ages for plate that will work
Just to let you know you can't get the hks ssqv to recirc on a new age unless you relocate it or get some custom hose made for the return to the turbo inlet, tried that a few years ago with no luck, ended up going back to standard

about as useful as a chocolate fireguard and only impresses wee lads in red top novas
