Default Quick question

Got a dilemma chaps.
Basically I bought a turbo timer and harness off a guy on here (perfect seller, had a few bits off him). It came straight from his car and was working perfectly.
I have attempted to fit it into my car today but have found a problem. I've tested the points in the existing plug where the harness plugs into. There are 4 points, one of which is earth, 1 is permanent live and 2 are ignition live. The problem lies with the harness, the earth point on the harness plug is in the place of a live in the existing plug. If I were to plug it together the obvious would happen. This is where I can't figure it out, it came straight from his car but can not go straight into mine.
Hope that all makes sense, lol...
Would the fact that my car is an import be a factor ??
Any ideas or answers would be greatfully received.

Thanks as always,
Matt.

wish I could help matt but all I did was buy a harness from Graham Goodes for £11 and plug my apexi in. There didnt seem to be any spec to say there was a difference betweek import and uk on there tho

Not sure if this helps but there might be a difference as they list 1993-1997 then another for 1997 on

Oh maybe that's it then. His car was an early one and mine is a 97.
Thanks buddy, looks like I'll have to grab a new harness. Just means a cheap turbo timer and harness ended up being not so cheap, lol.
Live and learn hey.

Thanks fella.

Same problem I had mate, lol. Bought an Apexi for about £25 and thought it was plug n play but ended up needing a harness for mine. Contact Graham Goodes in Leicester, they have a range of HKS harnesses but they fit pretty much any turbo timer. Yours should be the same as mine, around £11 + postage.

I've got to get one for a bugeye at some point so thats reminded me, ta!
