which bottom end and whats the difference??

Default which bottom end and whats the difference??

hi all i have a my2000 wrx (import obviously) which has bottom end knocking i just want to know if any ej20 turbo bottom end will fit it or does it have to be off a jdm version 5/6? also does anyone know what the differences are between the uk turbo engine and the import wrx engine? any help greatly appreciated

All I know is that on the UK MY99/00 Version 2 engine the inlet manifold bolts are staggered and not inline so when swapping the bottom end you have to use the existing heads/inlet BUT you can use any wrx or sti bottom end. When mine started knocking I just changed the whole lump as it was easier.

If mine ever goes again i'll be swapping to a v7/8 sti bottom end thats for sure or do a CDB build.

I thought all the jdm imports were sti's? I'm learning as I go along so maybe wrong.

thanks for the reply fella on the classic shape all wrx,s are import and are not all sti,s they have the same power as an sti but without the forged engine internals

Earlier WRX came with less power than the STI's, but by 1997 the power was equaled (on paper), 280PS.
