Default OK Scooby experts - what is this?

White 2001 Bugeye WRX AUTO (Yes Auto)

So I know what it says it is, but as far as I know none of these made it to the UK.

The wheels look older than the car and I have never heard of a Subaru 'tiptronic' so what is it?

Is it 'kosher'?

TIA

I have seen the odd auto, but never one with the 'tiptronic' feature.

Does Rallyfan555's have this do you know?

Well it's definitely an import as autos weren't sold in the UK, but as I said I didn't even know they made a 'tiptronic' for any market, that's my query really, well that and is it any good?

Cheers. I have driven a classic WRX auto and it is surprisingly good (and I am an auto hater in general) so I wondered if this would be better again as have a friend who needs to drive when they visit me from overseas, but they only have an auto licence. Would have been a good compromise as a second car anyway.

As above only few models have Tiptronic, which i know(NB and 20k) and usually they're JDM WRX...

Driving with this its much better than with standard Auto mode,if its worth yes,if you are not looking for 400bhp+,this box will hold 350-400bhp without the problem,in my case we are want little bit more than 400bhp.Just don't confuse with Legacy Tiptronic 4EAT,which are totally internally different and they're not good as Impreza 4EAT with tiptronic.
If here in UK somebody will do upgrades of 4EAT like in USA,i would stick with 4EAT,but here in UK doing only one company which charging for this crazy money.

Mine is an 02 Bug import NB-R limited run in japan land - car came with bigger wheels, not those in the pic, Sti suspension, vented rear discs, Auto/Tip box and a special rear wing as fitted to early jap Sti Bug's, the NB-R came in White, Silver , blue and black, HID Sti headlamps and fog light covers out of the factory - looks like someone has fitted the Auto system into a Bug eye.
