Got a scratch get this.....
#1
Hi all,
I've been bugged by an absolute t**t of a Deep scratch about 1" long (that can be seen from quite a distance away) for a few weeks now, so the other day went into Halfords and saw their own brand scratch repair Kit (about £6.99 with paint)
So in for a penny in for a pound..i bought one (unfortunately they dont do the paint colour ,so i got some clear laquer,as the scratch hadn't gone to the undercoat! But if it had see your dealer !!they usually supply it free ;0) )
Firstly you use the Fibreglass (i kid u not) brush to clean the scratch, then apply the laquer and leave 24 Hrs. Finally sand it down with the supplied abrassive pad (very gentle abrassive mind) and clean with Hd cleanse and polish .....Et Voila
NO Bloody Scratch.....
not cheap for what it is but it works....
cheers m.

Cheers for that, a timely post as I managed to open the garage door into my bootlid today and got a two inch scratch for my trouble.
This is down to the undercoat, so will the scratch kit still work?

Dales ,
If you get some paint to match from the dealers (they usually give you a small pot if you ask nicely !!)
But remember to use only enough paint to Underfill scratch...then fill it with laquer
(this worked for me but i've got DB Metallic)
If its just a std colour you may get away with just paint IMHO...
Dont be dis heartened when after you've rubbed it down (gently Mind !!)the paint looks faded and very lightly scratched (i did say lightly -with the pressure and work to very small area as poss.)
If you then use some Hd cleanse to gently restore it and apply some carbon wax..(zymol type stuff- cheers mike Uw) then roberts ur uncle.
Hope this helps
