did i read right "sideways" for over 2 hours, HOW? and didnt you **** the tyres up.

There was no previous record. Only Simon was looney enough to think of it 
The book of records stated that in order for it to class as a 'world record' then Simon would need to keep it sliding for 15 mins. As you can see, he managed a little more than that
