Clutch bite at what point?
#1
Can someone tell me at what point their clutch starts biting?
My 98 with 15,000 miles is almost at full release before the clutch takes up drive, certainly in the last third of pedal movement. I haven't driven another Scooby in years so have no comparison available.
I've also got the sporadic problem of "juddering" which has now been well documented on the BBS, so I think there may be someting up. Intend putting it to the dealer before the warranty expires, probably Town & County Aberdeen , any comments on what attitude to expect from them regarding this known problem?
Cheers,
David.

What your looking at is the clutch is on its way out!.
When the biting point is right on the floor and its hard to get in gear, the plate is dragging and not clearing(new one req).
When the biting point is at the top, the centre plate is worn a needs replacing!!!
When the biting point is about half way to three quarters of the way up thats good.
You may find soon that when accelerating in say 3rd the Revs pick up a lot quicker than normal but you are not going any quicker .
Hope this helps

I maybe wrong but the scooby has a hydraulic clutch not a cable. Both my scoobies from new bite quite high. The UK one I had an MY98 juddered from new from cold not all the time though I was told "They all do that Sir" . My RA has done it once form cold but only has 2K miles on it and has a uprated clutch as standard.
