As a rule, steer clear of eBay turbos chap. Heard many horror stories of the quality and longevity of cheap eBay turbos.
Also, TD06 turbos are known for being pretty laggy.

thats what i was thinking about the quality but its always worth asking the question. i can imagine it will be very laggy till about 4k then should take off nicely

Take off nicely or sh*t itself, one of the two.

absolutely do not buy an ebay special, buy cheap buy twice.
Pm Harvey he sells top notch td05/06 turbos, more importantly you are getting sound advice for your engine.
Lots of horror stories about ebay, just be aware

What car do you have and what other mods does it have?
There may be a better turbo for you than the above (definately if its off ebay )

Also the wastegate arm on these turbos tend to lock open so you lose all bost. If you adjust to avoid this they boost creep like a biatch and will not be kind to your engine/box.

As said I would avoid the temptation of the price. have mapped a few of them and they are always a disappointment IMHO

you can have any or any combination of the following issues

-poor spool
-poor peak output
-irratic peak output
-self destruction cos of poor quality
-actuator control issues

hang on thats everything a turbo does,,,,, lol

reason for this can be,

-poor quality materials used
-poor quailty manufacturing
-copied component not accurate

Plus a multitude of others, some folks get lucky and they do ok, most tend not to and can take out more than just the turbo itself if it goes.
