Bailey don't have a very good reputation. In fact dump valves on scoobies in general dont have a good rep. Spend the money on a decat or other similar mod and release a few more ponies. Only my opinion mate.

Your car will already have a recirculating dump valve on it. The Baileys one you describe is a VTA (vent to atmosphere) type dump valve - the ones that give you a silly tssssh noise on lift off.

There isn't anything wrong with the standard re-circ DV so not really any need to replace it. But if you do replace it, buy a better quality item. My last Scoob had a Baileys VTA DV on it and the spring went within months. It was replaced with a second hand Forge Motorsport one which had a much better spring and general build quality.

Me, personally think VTA DV's are useless tat and simply chav trumpets, BUT if you are going to buy one regardless (as it is your car), buy a better brand than the cheap, nasty Baileys crap (as per my/others experiences)

I had a forge on my old bug and it wasn't too bad and not loud, although the noise does get tiresome.
My classic on the other hand came with a baileys already fitted and it was w@nk, i manged to get a hold of a forge one for that and that improved it alot, i would say stick with the oe recirc valve and if its the noise you want??

Try an aftermarket induction kit... Although they too have their apparent issues...

But thats another story.

if you want a dumpvalve get forge, hks or turbosmart as these seem the better build but like others say standard one is the better one to stick with also dont get a induction kit unless your thinking of getting a remap as this will only cause you issues aswell
