Default wow 280 miles out of a tank full

no motorways all of that was on back roads and over taking the odd car Im So made up i was normally getting 240 max

it may have something to do with
1 driving with a dodgy right ankle
2, following the camper when went away for the weekend
3, needing some new rear shocks so taking it slightly easier than normal.

how much is normal miles out of a tank of fuel in an STI ? (non motorway driving)

what do you all get out of your cars ? mine is not really modded apart from PPP.

Your either driving like a complete loon or something is off with the car

get it mapped and you should see 300+ every trip. Worth checking your Lambda sensor also

used to get 320 + plus out of my modded Uk turbo and now get 280+ out of my current car and I don't hang around

200 miles from 60 litres, thats 3.3 miles per litre and you thinks thats normal?

2005 Blob Sti, I get 80 miles out of a tank, with mixture of A roads and town.

Just joking, but I am getting a little less than my old WRX at about 230 miles.

I only half fill the tank on my type r.I don't like carrying too much weight.
I get roughly 20mpg with a mixture of driving so I'm really chuffed with that.It is totally standard though.
My old Evo use to get around 10mpg running 322bhp so anything above that I'm happy with.

Danny.

cos who wants to go to the petrol station every day, on track i might only half fill but on the road it doesnt make that much difference

a full tank in my car weighs approx 44 kilos... car weighs 1440 so the fuel makes up 3% of the cars weight. not worth worrying about

(all figures taken from a quick google)

190 miles on a full tank normally, and thats a few spirited squirts of the gas, and some normal driving too. I always keep my car topped right up, despite the extra weight... Who knows when a Brynley Williams is going to come along and start another fuel protest! I don't want to be the one who has no fuel from the outset!

That would mean you only had a 10 gallon tank? Isn`t it more like 13 gallons or 60 litres.

i get around 280miles from a tank on my 319bhp sti5. Never let it get lower than a quarter tank either-paranoid about crap from the bottom of the fuel tank getting sucked in.

Probably not in an STI my standard wrx gets 320miles before the light on a long run to Watford from Cheshire.

im sure if there is anything in your tank it is all mixed in anyway and you have a fuel filter. never really understood this one

Because some of us drive our cars not care too much about the 2mpg difference it would probably get You could opt not to have passengers aswell?

I presume people test it by total fuel used against milage used? I think some people think when you say to a tank that you let you car run out completely as no one would do this.

just followin advice from well known subaru engine rebuilders Eclipse Performance - they reckon its possible to drag dirt from the very bottom of your fuel tank through the system and either block the in line fuel filter or worse damage an injector. So if its advice from them in the know then it makes sense to me. Doesnt cost anymore in real terms to keep the gauge over the quarter level anyways.

Theres a feature in total impreza issue 16 that covers it too

but why would the dirt be sitting in the bottom of the tank? as the car moved it would be mixed about surely... ?

Unless the dirts too heavy to float about an the residues settles at he bottom of the tank. i dont know exactly but it makes sense to me mate. Phone them and ask them 0191 565 5050.

As ive said if engine rebuilders recommend doing it then thats good enough for me.
