Right then, I've sold my WRX and now the hunt is on for a blob sti. I've got £6500 to spend and though not in plenty, there are a few to be had at this price. Hopefully going to see one mid week or on weekend, which is 2003 STI, 61K miles, standard spec apart from 18" OZ Superleggeras (very nice indeed), and some light tinted windows, it has just 2 past owners and fsh, up for £6995.00
If anyone finds a good example please let me know.

Well, the little big boys club then.
I am off traders, as I went to see an 'apparantly mint', 54 plate MY05 STI but it was quite tatty with the clutch almost going. Also I managed to netotiate the price over the phone before my visit, from £6995 to £6300. Then when I pointed out the faults, which also included worn brake pads, I got them to reduce to £5700. All of a sudden alarm bells started ringing in my head, as why a dealer would drop £1300 off a car, unless there was something seriously wrong with it. So I walked.

I have only drove past it but it looks pretty good to me, it looked a bargain when it was £6499 last week but this new price
Been trying to help my m8 find a blob STI for a wile. But there's been no realistic ones in the north east.
One we went to look at last week was going for about £9k.
But it hadn't even been valeted, stank of cat ****. There was allot of rust on the boot where the spoiler joins. Which I think was made worse by the spoiler having a bolt missing & being quite loose.
It had 6 previous owners as well.

tbh mate i know sti prices have dropped over the past couple of years but your not going to get a shining example for £6500.i looked at a few for a friend that wanted one, and i walked away from every one that we saw that was priced low for one reason or another.i would atleast put another grand to what you have and get something thats not going to fall apart on you at the first pothole you hit.
You'll need a little more than £6995 to join the big boys league. As above, you are looking at the rougher end of UK Blob STIs for that amount. Why not go for a Bug which are cheaper? Even better, get one that modded or JDM

Well, well, well. I just picked up a MY05 STI on a 54 plate with 78K miles, full dealer service history, £6700. Now I see what all the fuss is about with STi's.
