Default Anyone know the difference between STi Bugeye Wagon and Saloon

I'm currently selling my 2002 Bugeye STi wagon and I keep getting asked what the differences between the saloon and wagon are.

I've been trawling around the t'internet and cannot find a definitive answer.

Has anyone got any ideas whether there were differences other than the brakes or any idea where I might find out?

Thanks
Matt

It would be easier if you listed your items on your wagon.

It's a standard STi wagon. The interior is exactly the sames as the 4 door, it's just whether there is anything different under the hood really.

yep thats 1 of them. They were also only for the jdm & european market, we dint get any. Most i have looked at dont have the sti wheels because they dont need to clear the brembo's calipers, so they have the wrx wheels.

Thats about it i think There's a nice blue 1 on PH at £4k, although i'd have to have 1 in white

They were only JDM's and I think that the bugeye one was the last model where a wagon was done.

Here's a couple of shots...

Eh no difference, and your wagon didn't come with brembo's on the front, because my friend came with brembo's on the front.

I wish they had brought them in back in 2002 when I got mine...

1. No Brembos.
2. No arch blisters F&R.
3. Possibly different rear ARB fitting ( narrow track suspension )

The brakes were subaru 4 pots and not brembo's on the wagon, thats the only real difference, mechanically they were identical, same engine/power output etc.

Was that not the RA models based on the assumption that they would be ripped off and replaced with competition spec stuff

Yes this model has been 16" RA Spec-C which has been equipped with VF34 and DCCD box,but i've seen too "normal" JDM STi with OE 4pots few times equipped with as i said with OE 4pots

Makes you wonder about the rears as OEM 2 pots wont fit an sti due to disc and handbrake/drum size, Does this mean it has the normal WRX hubs/discs up on a 6 Speed transmission?

WRX discs wont fit the larger drum size of the jdm V7 sti wagon, the sti wagon discs will take the wrx 2pot calipers. This is what we found when upgrading my wagon to jdm sixspeed.
All wagons have narrow tracking over saloon.

I`m talking about a factory fitted 6-speed in the JDM V7 STI wagon that comes fitted with OEM 2 pot calipers(Non-brembos), Presumably the whole break set up is off a WRX, Discs,Calipers,Drums & Handbrake but on a 6-Speed box

I would say it has r180 rear diff, shafts and larger sti hubs and hand brake shoes, this would then have discs as per classic type r which is the larger handbrake shoes but smaller disc diameter to accommodate the 2 pots.
Easy to upgrade to brembo though as just need the discs and calipers as the shoes are already the correct size

Only the spec c motorsport version has the 4 pots and not brembo's as standard, and I dont think they did those on MY02 versions, only MY03 onwards (well ive never seen one advertised or any info on it anyway )
