Whats wrong with my car?
Hey guys,
Excuse the long post but could do with a bit of advice - My car is making some strange noises but I can't tell what is broken.
I was on a run earlier (about 26 miles) and the car seemed fine most of the way. I was driving down the motorway for the majority of the journey.
I turned off the motorway and down a dual carriageway for a few miles then hit a country lane. I was behind a car that turned onto a side road so I put my foot down in 4th to accelerate but the car didn't seem to come on boost.
Every time I put my foot down a little to get the turbo to spool I would get what i would describe as a scratching/grinding noise from the turbo and it make a strange noise on lift off (like chattering?).
Took it nice and easy on the way home but had to accelerate on a slip road as roadworks had forced the road into one lane only and it was quite busy - The car made another strange noise, this time it seemed more from the gearbox area and then suddenly stopped, the noise is hard to describe.
Then when i was nearly home going up a hill in 4th there was then a whine/drone from the gearbox, changed up to 5th and it was still whining. The pitch changed with the revs, it then stopped once i slowed down for traffic and didn't come back.
Again sorry for the long post but does anyone have any ideas?

Any one else had a similar experience?
I live in the South Wales are so not sure where to take the car at the moment. Obviously don't want to drive it too far incase it dies on me and CVC, closest Subaru garage, have just closed down too (I'm sure that will make some on here happy!)
Any specialists to recommend - I usually go to Powerstation but as above, probably a bit too far to drive.
Cheers.

Once the car is fixed I will be putting the car in part ex - Do you think I would be better getting it fixed then putting it in or save myself the hassle and trade it broken and let them fix it?
Do you think they would have my pants down on the part ex cost?

If you went to CVC before then this place should seem like winning Chris Evans' Garage in a raffle.

Have you owned the car long? Just wondering why you would want to trade it in? These cars are normally rock solid and amazing performance/looks for the money. Yes you would lose quite a lot trading it in just working fine, let alone not working properly.
