I've used Aviva for my imported STi's in the past as they've been best quote. Sometimes had problems with online quotes, or got the online one, then phoned up and got a cheaper one...

As Aviva are giving three months free insurance to new policyholders they have bettered my renewal by just over £140, all excesses are exactly the same as my previous insurers. I have also found it easier to ring them and actually speak to a member of staff, this can be quite financially benefical.

I got an email from compare the meerkat offering to quote online. I thought why not and put my details in...........Results: Only 1 broker offered to insure my modded classic for 8797!!!!!!!

Think i'll stick to my 467 renewal with Adrian Flux. Personally I don't think its worth getting on-line quotes for a modded car. Good luck

+1 on that. They quoted us (me and my wife) - I'm 34, 15yrs ncb no convictions or accidents, or my wife, ~£1200 and they even wanted to charge us for having windscreens repaired when it should always be free!!! Eventually got my quote down to £700 with Admiral. It was going to be £600 but they "got confused" with my Prodrive pack and refused to do it for less than £700, but either way much better than Aviva.

Who remembers the Top Gear episode when Clarkson rings up an insurance company (who he clearly implied was Norwich Union) to get a quote to insure his Bugatti Veyron, just out of curiosity... his response from the insurance company was "Is that a Rover sir?".. lol
