Default New Hawkeye STI type UK PPP owner - question

Hi
I bought my hawkeye STI type UK PPP last week. Loving it more each day! I have a question, can you normally hear the standard "blow off" valve when you change gear on a standard / un-modified PPP? It's not very loud but there is a definite hiss in the background when you accelerate hard and change gear. I always thought the standard blow off valve was re-circulating (meaning it would be silent) as opposed to one that dumps the pressure to the "atmosphere"? This is my first impreza so am still learning I bought the car at a main dealer and was assured it was all standard (other than the PPP).

Thanks for any info.
Matt

I have an RB320 which is pretty much the same car as yours and mine makes the same sound as you describe. I'm not sure peeps outside the car will hear the hiss sound which personally i prefer as opposed to the blow off sound.

I have the non PPP version for yours, and have the same sound with mine. As mentioned above, its nowhere near as loud as a vent to air DV, but is noticeable if you are listening for it.

Yup hear it as well. Driven a uk sti sedan and hatch as well as a spec c. Hear it on all 3. Spec C being the most prominent probably due to the stingy insulation and thin windows.
