Default Cant seem to find a backing plate ?

Hello

I'm in the process of upgrading my brakes but am having a bit of trouble sourcing parts

I have a V3 Type R, which only has single pot calipers on the back. I'm looking to upgrade these to the later 2 pot ones

I've been told I need a backing plate off either a later type R, or a 2001 onwards STI, the problem is I cant seem to find one anywhere ?

I've called loads of breaker yards but no joy, can anyone help as I'm stumped ?

or do you mean the protection guard ?

if so you dont need one , just remove the old one , normally just drop off , and fit bigger brakes

Stone guards? Just knock them off, there not essential.

Only 4 or 5 spot welds hold them in place.

Unless it's the adaptor brackets that is, you'll need them

No its a backing plate I need or the caliper wont fit on

I was told by godspeed that the V3 type R is the only year of car that had a different design on so need to upgrade to the newer style ?

Glad I'm not the only one thats not got a clue !

Was in the same boat mate, hard to get them second hand as breakers wont remove from hubs, have to buy complete hubs.
The back plates can be bought from subaru but over £100 quid per side.

Caliper bolts to the hub, but the V3 Type R is a bit of an odd ball.
