Default Insurance cheapest possible

Hi all scoobyheads im taking the plunge and after checking out whats what ive decided on a 2003 wrx with PPP.
Checked out insurance costs atm fully comp is £1434.00
Im 50 years old and aint driven in years as i was bigtime into cycling.
No convictions claims etc etc and with 48 year old wife as other user one of the safer postcodes stored on driveway at home with rac trackstar fitted.
Is this the normal sort of cost of fully comp insurance and are there any preferred subaru insurers that anyone knows about.
Thanks in advance.

Keith Michaels you have to ask for Gary Moulson or Aplan

I guess you have no no claims bonus and dont live in a great postcode.

The only downside is they sometimes prefer you to have some experience driving turbo charged AWD cars so you might not be able to get much lower but its worth a try

Im 40 and paid £850 last year full comp with 10 year ncd but lots on here will pay alot less than me as it was my first year in a AWD Turbo car.

I'm having really crazy qoutes too. My Alpina costs £112 a year , got a couple years no claims , live in a good post code and I'm still being quoted £1000-£5000 !

Going to do some phoning tomorrow and see if I can get a reasonable quote.

Thanks for the speedy replies i live in the sk9 postcode area not known as a blackspot yet there are some very pricey footie players cars around to rob i suppose i passed test 25 years ago and only last 4 years not driven prior to that still clean licence no points no claims.
Ill give those suggested a try btw.

Privelege might be worth a go but you will need a Tracker or similar for them to give the full theft cover - I pay £415 fully comp with them, 38 yrs old with 7 yrs NCD - 02 wrx bugeye wagon but i did need the tracker.

I'm amazed at that price. Seems a bit steep. I got a quote on moneysupermarket and the best came in for me in the late £500's. I'm 36 with 9 years no claims on an 01 WRX.

£415 fully comp with privelage sounds like a great deal. I must check them out.
