Question for the Mappers etc
So i'm a lazy sod What would a standard Hawkeye STi get on a remap?
i had a quick search but couldnt find much standard done heh
only thing i will have is a k&n filter heh
I've heard getting a decat in the "up pipe"? would help alot
how much are we talking? ie worth all the hassle of getting one sorted and it in the garage to be fitted
and i assume with this decat the other cat would take car of emissions ?
saying that im looking at getting a garage to do an interim service on the car as im not convinced the best/right oil etc has been used at its last service :/ so i guess they could sort the decat for me if its worth buying etc
many thanks in advance

Friend of mine mapped his standard hawkeye with just a K&N filter and deresonated center pipe, achieved 348bhp and 355lb/ft.
As I know, hawkeye doesen't have cat in uppipe.

id rather not muck about with cats at mot time, and im trying to hold off spending too much on it, not sure on prices for a good sports cat
the desresonated center pipe just for noise or helps on map too?

Decat downpipe is a very good mod to do, helps spool and turbo response quite considerably and If I'm right I think you can leave the centre cat in and get away with it for MOT. Not 100% on this though as not tested myself. Most will get around the 350bhp mark with equally if not a bit more torque to boot.

Mapping the std car transforms it as the std map really subdues the performance available from the turbo and the engine.
Even without messing around with cat changes you should see 330bhp and about 350lb/ft. If you get rid of the second cat in the centre section then a little more performance is available - say to 340bhp and 360lb/ft.
The uppipe doesnt have a cat in it so no advantage in changing it.
Going full decat or sports cat will bring the response from the throttle pedal much sharper and give more again but from what you are saying you dont want to go down this route. Great cars to map even in std form IMO.

Are these numbers with PPP? As I'm looking to get some more power out of my Blob STi, has a Green cotton filter currently but no PPP? Or would i need a cat-back system and fuel pump to get to 330bhp levels?

Check out TSL's Thundercat down pipe, in their description their pretty confident in it being MOT emission friendly,
was also the one I was gonna go for, as I've read peeps with the other makes now failing even with getting things nice and hot before the emissions test
& replace rear cat with straight thru pipe, which is done to PPP WRX/STi, think that cat is a 600cel so big improvement with that removed
