Not used them myself but not heard any bad things about them other than their prices are a little high

Sorry to hear that mate.

Drive home...sweet. Back roads...even sweeter. You could clock up 1k miles if you planned your route well. Lol

Maybe send a PM to jameswrx

They are filthy, some need paint (ie when you enquire about a purchase they say this will be done etc) and they aren't registered or anything. When Im looking for a car I go armed with the dollar, think he said it was a 2 week min wait if you wanted one. The impreza my mate was looking at was silver and the whole thing had been really badly resprayed. The shiney ad pics and the mint descriptions paint a vastly different picture to the ones I've actually seen. I realise a lot of old cars have had paint etc but the price on their cars and descriptions lead you to believe they are something special or at least good.

Thanks for the heads up SRSport. I would be devastated to travel all the way down there to collect a car that was not as described.

No worries, Ive done a 5 hour round train trip before to Hampshire county cars to view a Ford cougar many years back, they picked me up from the station and showed me a crash damaged car! They refused to give me a lift back unless I paid a deposit and I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, guessing my way back to the station until a nice passerby gave me a lift.

no worse than another specialist i know about...I spent months almost a year looking for my blob and went all over the country before finding the perfect one (which also happened to be at rhe best price!) its an expensive hobby, but itll pay for herself...and if in doubt AA inspection for £200 they properly give it a big inspection. The guy did my dads old corrado for the lad buying it spent 4 hours on it. He found a busted bush byut that was it. My dad was a mechanic as was thoroughly impressed with what the inspector did.

With its wait in gold!

^ Hmmm... that's an interesting post (james'), from a reliable poster.

I too have an eye on that silver wagon and have emailed SVA twice about it. Both replies have come back 3 days later, and have been very brief. Next step would have to be a phone call...

I agree with that. Even of I dont get one done I always ask if they are prepared to let me get one done. If they are it makes me less suspicious, if they arent I dont even bother pursuing it.

At the time I was very tempted to go around letting all their cars tyres down. It was very stupid of them thinking about it as it was the end of the day so they all went home leaving me outside of their showroom with plenty of stones and nice shiny paint work around.

A lot of older import cars including SVA Imports have seen some crash damage. Its whether it was minor or major & to what standard was it repaired. Half the cars on the road at the moment have probably had some panel repair or the other. You need to judge each car on its won merit & don't get too hung up if it has had some bodywork or paint done.

That has got to be classed as trying to obtain money with menaces, surely. Well done for naming the scumbags.

SVA get my vote - bit pricey - but my sti 5 wagon was a fresh import and they did a good deal with sourcing used defis for me and the car had tein coilovers.

I travelled from glasgow for mine. Did regret gettin them to fit an hks hi power as my ears were ringin above sixty mph!!
Sadly I crashed it on october on a diesel spillage.

Now running a white sti 5 wagon from car planet racing also a fresh import so they are worth a try too.

SVA are just up the road from me and personally I would avoid them like the plague.

There cars are usually overpriced and their customer service is sh*t at best.

I bought a Nissan S15 from them about 2/3 years ago and from the very start they did not seem interested in selling me a car. Completely disinterested in anything I had to say and not very helpful at a later stage when I went back to enquire about some parts.

They just kept fobbing me off and telling me to return at a later date when they were not as busy, I gave up in the end and got them elsewhere. I also had a problem with the twin plate clutch and took it back after 3 weeks of ownership. They gave me an appointment to bring it back to inspect it and kept me waiting around like a plank for 3 hours before they even checked it out.

Saying that they did eventually correct the fault. Like I said previoulsy, I would not under any circumstances buy another car from them

That is strange but I know what you mean. I stayed at the Premier inn next door and spent a long time over 3days looking at an Evo 6. Not once did anyone seem at all bothered and I was left to it. I did think it was quite refreshing at first but it did seem odd. I thought that maybe the get a lot of dreamers so only take you seriously if you walk into the showroom and ask them for a test drive.

I 'managed to buy' a blobeye WRX from them 6 years ago - boy was it difficult - no customer service whatsoever! When I picked up the car, stuff they said would be done wasn't - replacing HID lamps and removing limiter.
That said, it was a minter of a car and immaculate when I collected it. Good part ex on my Version 3 STi as well.
I did go back a year later to try and buy a blobeye STi - they had several in stock but despite having a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket, my buying skills weren't good enough to secure one.
I drove 250 miles north and bought from from David at API - now that was a much better experience all round

Ok. So I spoke to SVA regarding a Type R V limited currently in transit. I asked for various info regarding the car, via email and also over the phone. I also said if they would get back to me before closing, I would part with a deposit. That was Tuesday .... Still waiting. How do people make money treating customers like this. They have just lost out on 7.5k. There either LOADED or lazy as Fu@k. If a garage does not want to help a custmer, IMO, they are not worth a w@nk.

AVOID!!!

Shaun
