im no sparky but i would be checking the condition of the reflector itself ,and then also checking the live feed to the headlamp you have an issue with , maybe compare the voltage to the other side ???

each side probably has its own earth point too ,possibly bad earth ???

all easy to check and free too

Not sure on a classic, but if each side has a relay swop them over and see if the problem moves.

Check the plug that goes into the back of the bulb. A fused bulb in mine caused the plug to arc and partially melt, creating a bad contact. I had to buy a new plug to fix the problem. Check that the electrical contacts look bright and shiney.

On classics, one fuse causes the other side to light up dim. Check BOTH fuses.

You don't have a manual?

See, mine is a 98 car, so MAY be different.
<goes out to look at manual>

OK, on mine, the fusebox containing the headlights is under the bonnet, passenger's side, behind the wheel-arch. It has a black cover with "Fuse Box" on it.

Take the lid off and look at it so the MAIN fuse, the big one, is bottom left.

The two fuses you now want to check are furthest right, top and second one down, they are 15A, and fuse n/s headlights, (main AND dip) ,and offside headlights, (same).
