Hi all ,
been running a UK standard 2003 wrx in Italy on normal unleaded NOT "blu super or V power", nearly impossible to find in the area), now have damaged valves, could it be the fuel?
thanks

Valves normally get damaged due to over-revving or the cambelt breaking, jumping a few teeth or being incorrectly installed.
The only other occasion is if a big-end fails, so the piston goes up further than it should and hits the valves...but you'd know about that as the bottom end of the egine would be knocking.
Unless you are talking about valve seat damage, which could be from foreign debris, backfiring or overheating from incorrect fuel mixture or ignition problem.

I assume the OP means burnt valves? Usually the exhaust. Quite unusual these days.
Lean mixture causing high EGT or bad det?
