Default SPEC C R205........to LM400 or not to LM400 that is the question?

Right guys I need a push in the right direction....with this bloody car costing me the best part of £40k do I go and spend another £3k on mods which I doubt Ill get back when I come to sell the car next year?

Ever since these new LM400 have come out I've had an itch that needs to be scratched!

I know I'll end up getting a gen 2 turbo or LP560 for the summer so am not sure if I'll even drive the R205 unless I do a little track work.

The cars booked in wih Litcho for a remap and down pipe, but am just thinking that Imight aswell go the whole hog?

I have a couple of weeks to decide anyway as the billet vesion don't arrive untill late next week.

So sould I just buy the "Billet" so to speak and go for it

Not sure I would be spending money on an R205, due to their rarity I'd be keeping it standard.

If your not going to use the car just stick with the remap and exhaust mods.

Leave it Immy. If you start messing you are taking away what the car is about.

It's special as it is and doesn't need bits bolting on.

Don't do it IMO!!!

IMO this is nothing to do with the car. We are only talking about a turbo and injectors. this IMO is about the logic of blowing £3k on something youre not going to make much use of.

Hey Immy, you got one of these at the shop with 360bhp. Would that mean you are going to pay £3000 for 40bhp? Hahahaha

You are one lucky man, i hate the hatch but i would give my left ( or right ) nut for a R205?

Thanks for your commnts guys, however it's a very hard choice as I think it would complete the car 420bp ,but like some of you have said I on't want to spil such a special car.

I thought Iwould go for a happy medium of a full decat and remap would be ok. I was going to go for bigger injectors however everyone have spoke to says the VF42 max's out at 370bhp.

If its VF42 maxed out at 370bhp,i would stay with standard injectors, and as you are said remap and exhaust and hopefully you will get 370 bhp.

I would go for it,
3 reasons:

1) Like some have said what another 3 ?? your going to lose 10 k on the resale anyway

2) R205 special yes, but not it not a cosworth

3) & most importantly, it will make a great 2nd hand buy for one of us in the future

No you are quite right . Given the choice I would opt for the R205 every single time.

2nd that, immy buy a spec c and by all means mess with that, the R205 is a limited car and should stay that way.

True ,but with the current exchange rate and the fact that it's the only one in the country I think it will still fetch good money next year.

Theres already been a lot of genuine interest from scooby nutters like Mikep and Bigfud

It is worth every penny to the right person who knows their Subaru's.

This is also an option I have thought of ,but I cant warrant having three cars over the summer plus I don't think I can afford it

I know what you mean ,but I had a gen 1 cab last summer and have always wanted a Lambo however I think the turbo is better value for money plus it's only £500 fo a service every 15000 miles.
