Default Are STi Wagons worth more or less than the corresponding saloons?

Time has come to get rid of our STi7 wagon and I cannot see any around for sale, so am not sure whether they would come in at a higher or lower value than a similar saloon.

Anyone out there got any thoughts or experience?

Cheers
Matt

Depends on the car and availability of alternatives tbh. I would never buy another saloon, wagons are way better so to me I'd pay more. The other consideration is you will find more unabused wagons purely because originally they tended to be bought by different types of customer.

The MY01/02 JDM Bug STI wagons are very rare so they go for similar if not ever so slightly more money than the saloons (like 1 or 200 quid more, not 1 or 2k more), but that will be for a good one.

Thanks for the replies guys, there are a few things that need sorting on it (indicators stick, aircon needs re-charging and the clock doesn't work) so I'm not expecting to get top dollar for it, but such is life!

The wagons did not get the Brembo brakes as standard like the saloons did - good spot though

I would say about the same, because you don't have brembo's. So that kind of balances it out for me. What kind of money are you looking for it fella. Oh it is a nice looking motor

Yeah, know what you mean about the Brembos - lack of them was a thought when I first bought it - I even asked the garage to swap 'em over (as they had an saloon in stock too), but unsurprisingly they said no!
Guess it's a different car, had a saloon a few years ago followed by an Evo8 but this has been the first one I could get golf clubs in the boot of!
I've just put it up on Pistonheads at £5,000.

I'd have advertised it for more as starting at £5k is asking for £4k offers! They are pretty rare and to be honest if someone wants one they'd probably pay a premium over the saloon just because they are so few and far between. I looked for one for ages before getting mine and hardly came accross any. Infact in many years of trawling ebay, pistonheads and autotrader I could probably count on one hand the amount I've seen. I've yet to see another white one for sale!

How many miles has it done?

I know what you mean but I need it sold really, it's done 74,000 miles so not too bad.

But that is the high end for a standard sti wagon, My friend just payed £3750 for a silver one. And he had brembo"s on the front.

Blimey I would say that £3,750 is very cheap for one personally - assume it was a 7?
I've not found any STi7's for less than £5k in my searches.

It wasn't the cleanest of Version 7's i have seen, It had the wrong wheels on, it for fitting over the brembo's, so it had spacers. But apart from that, is was nice in silver.

I wouldn't say £5k is the high end at all, after many years of looking for one I'd say that's very cheap infact.

The fact your mate paid £3750 for one is exceptional, is it deffinately a genuine sti? Either way, you then go on to say it's not the cleanest example which on a silver car could totally destroy it's value (would for me) as any bodywork will stick out like a sore thumb. One of the reasons I'd have not bought silver is because these cars will need paint at some point and I just couldn't face anything other than a full, high quality respray on silver.

I would say about 5.5k-6k on the price mate, as already posted these are pretty rare and someone somewhere will be looking out and willing to pay the going price

You should get the little jobs done on it buddy. Clock is an easy fix with solder gun, indicator stalk can be grabbed off eBay for a coulpe of quid and the air con is gonna cost £50.
That way, potential customers haven't got any haggling points.

Folk are already breaking V7 STIs because they aren't selling at £5K.
