Default remap problems

1997 sti version 3 was booked in for map tweak (simtek )with simon (JGM) at scoobyworld...
once on rollers simon was doing his stuff... seemed like it was having trouble coming on boost, well i knew it was a fuelling issue and it was confirmed by the team...
changed the adjustbale fpr to see if it was faulty but no it was fine...fuel pump seems to whine really loud so was going to fit another brand new 255, was then told i have a original fpr on the fuel rails aswell as a adjustable and i should only have the one adjustable fpr ...i had this same setup on my last remap but was fine...
now car is at my mates garage getting the original fuel rail fpr taken off and fitting a adapter (already had one from previous car i broke lol )
driving home now from scoobyworld (obviously no map tweak) and as i put foot down it felt like the throttle closed completely and wouldnt pick revs whatso ever untill i let go of pedal and pressed it again ever so gently (i thought to myself maybe it could be a TPS? )

big thanks to simon for effort he put in and what a top bloke
hopefully on next date it will run smooth!

so just want some advice and highlight any other problems it could be

thanks in advance

Zak,

The fuel pressure is dropping as soon as the car comes on boost..
then it was noticed you still have the oe fuel pressure on as well as the new adjustable one.. this needs changing but shouldn't necessarily cause the current issue, the fuel pump is exceptionly noisy and suspect this is where the issue lies but the oe fuel pressure reg must be replaced with the adaptor also.
I also recall pointing out the oe reg the last time I mapped it and that it needed removing but mapped the car so it was safe for you to drive with the mods on etc.

You need to drive it gently and as little as possible and off boost until the issue is resolved as I explained before you arrived this morning, I was unable to remap it due to the issues so this still applies..

there is no issue with the throttle position sensor.. just the lack of fuel as the fuel pressure drops to zero

It was a shame scoobyworld didn't have an adaptor there else it could have been sorted today hopefully.

Simon

once done i will let you know and hopefully on the next session it will all go smooth with around 400 ponies

i have simular trouble on my53 wrx. i go up the rev range in 4th and when it hits 5000rpm it some times stops with no go. when i press the pedal on and off, the boost is there but not on load, showing on the gauge, but still no go then car judders. on the open road diagnostic the tps was showing 100% up the rev range with two 0% flat spots then occasionally when it stops at 5000rpm it shows 0% tps
